The Mission!
We are a group of students from Sehome High School who are interested in engineering and robotics, and who have decided to enter the FIRST Robotics Competition, an international robotics competition. The FIRST Robotics Competition "challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week time frame using a standard 'kit of parts' and a common set of rules. Teams build robots from the parts and enter them in competitions designed by Dean Kamen, Dr. Woodie Flowers, and a committee of engineers and other professionals."
2008 Team Leads
Brennan Ashton, Grade 11, Programming, Server Administrator, Website Development
Brennan Ashton is currently enrolled in classes at both Western Washington University and Sehome High School, and is an aspiring electrical engineer and computer scientist. He has successfully led team of fellow students from 2006-2007 from start to completion of a project funded by the Lemelson-MIT Grant, and currently holds the position of Laser Fleet Captain at the Bellingham Yacht Club. He is an avid microcontroller programmer of both Freescale and PIC chip sets. He has applied his programming skills on the desktop platform through contributions to WiFi drivers in the Linux Kernel. When not working on school work, Linux, or electronics, he spends his time riding his bike and competitively racing sailboats with friends.
Dylan Marriner, Grade 12, Programming, Website Development
Dylan Marriner is a straight "A" math student, National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, Rotary Math Student of the Month, aspiring mad scientist, and and all-league soccer player. He enjoys reading, spending time with friends, programming, and playing the drums. His favorite gadget is his TI-89, and his favorite programming language is Java.
James Regulinski, Grade 12, Mechanical Design
James Regulinski is a senior at Sehome High School who hopes to one day become a mechanical engineer. While enrolled in the required Sehome courses he is also studying multivariable calculus and Chinese at Western Washington University (his Chinese name is not worth typing, as he submitted his bio late and forgot to embed the correct fonts). In 2006-2007 he was part of the team that was awarded the Lemelson-MIT Grant. This year he helped start Sehome's Engineering Club and is independently studying manufacturing and design engineering. When he is not off engineering he likes to sing and is in two select choirs.
What do we do?...WE BUILD ROBOTS!!!
